🚒 DREAM BIG: CAREER DAYS ACROSS D99 BECAME A POWERFUL LESSON IN POSSIBILITY! 👮♂️
What do you want to be when you grow up?
It's a question adults ask all the time. But this month, across Cicero District 99, our students didn't just answer that question... they got to see it!
From preschool classrooms filled with wide-eyed wonder to middle school students starting to dream about their future paths, Career Days across District 99 brought the real world directly to our kids — and what an unforgettable month it was.
Our students met chefs who turn passion into art. Electricians who literally power our communities. Nurses who comfort people on their hardest days. Architects who design the places we live and learn. Garbage collectors who keep our neighborhoods clean before most of us are even awake.
They heard from Town of Cicero President Larry Dominick about leadership, service, and what it means to give back to the community you call home.
Police officers, firefighters, pharmacists, yoga instructors, actresses, singers, and even Pocket Circus performers who proved that joy and creativity can be a career to.
And perhaps the most powerful part?
Many of our students saw themselves in these professionals.
They saw people who grew up in neighborhoods just like theirs. People who worked hard. People who overcame obstacles. People who showed them that success doesn't only look one way.
That matters.
Because sometimes all it takes is one conversation... one demonstration... one handshake... one moment of inspiration for a child to start believing:
"Maybe I can do that too."
A huge thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to pour into the next generation of Cicero. You didn't just talk about careers — you opened doors, sparked imagination, and helped shape futures.
And to our students: Keep dreaming loudly. Your future is bigger than you know!
